Introducing Virtual Lucy

Your route to fast, convenient specialist care

What is Virtual Lucy?

Don’t wait any longer for answers to your medical condition. Virtual Lucy, our digital outpatient service, is the fastest and most convenient way to get a specialist assessment and access the right care or treatment for you. You can use Virtual Lucy if you have been referred by your NHS Trust or Health Board, or you are an eligible AXA Health member.

Simply share your details through our secure online portal, and Virtual Lucy will connect you with the right specialist, who will assess your condition just as they would in a hospital outpatient clinic. Around half of patients don’t even need an appointment, and will receive feedback within 3 working days, including a personalised care plan with next steps, referrals, and any necessary follow-ups. If an in-person appointment or further tests are needed, your specialist will let you know.

How it works?

Create an account on Virtual Lucy. We will provide details on how to do this. You need to be referred to use the service or be an eligible AXA Health member.

Share your information. Provide your medical history, details and relevant photos through our secure online platform.

Receive a specialist review. A qualified specialist consultant (or physiotherapist for musculoskeletal issues) thoroughly reviews your information.

Get your personalised care plan. Your specialist creates a tailored care plan, including any necessary tests, diagnostics, rehabilitation exercises and follow-up appointments, which can all be arranged before you set foot in a hospital.

Am I eligible to use Virtual Lucy?

Patients must be 18 years or over.

  • NHS referrals: You need a referral to use the service. You can be referred by the NHS hospital or trust who is providing your care.
  • AXA Health members: Check your policy for information on your eligibility to use this service.
